Frequently asked questions

Subscriptions are bought inside the ClutchUp app, through the App Store. Open the app, go to Upgrade, and choose a plan — 1 month, 3 months or 6 months. Apple's native payment sheet handles the payment with Face ID or your Apple ID password.

There is no checkout on this website, and we never see or store your card details. If you've bought Pro before and it isn't showing, use Restore purchases in the app while signed in with the same Apple ID.

Because billing is handled by Apple, cancellation happens in your Apple ID subscription settings, not in ClutchUp: open Settings on your iPhone → tap your name at the top → SubscriptionsClutchUpCancel Subscription.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your Pro access continues to the end of the billing period you've already paid for — you don't lose it immediately. For refund requests, Apple handles those directly at reportaproblem.apple.com.

ClutchUp is designed to keep only what it needs in order to give you feedback. Mirror-check analysis runs on your device using Apple's on-device Vision framework, and facial footage is never uploaded or transmitted — only derived results such as timestamps and head-turn summaries leave your phone.

Road-facing camera stills are captured only at detected driving events, never as continuous video, and a drive can be recorded with no camera at all. Full detail — what we collect, why, who processes it, and how long we keep it — is in our Privacy Policy.

Yes. Telemetry-only mode uses just your phone's motion sensors and GPS and never opens a camera at all — and you still get a full debrief covering braking, speed, cornering and smoothness.

The camera modes are optional extras you choose before each drive: adding the road view gives you positioning and hazard context, and adding the face view enables mirror-check detection. You can decline the camera permission entirely and keep using the app. See how the modes compare.

No. ClutchUp is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) or any other government body. Its feedback is modelled on the style of a test debrief, but it is not an official assessment and carries no official standing.

No. ClutchUp complements professional lessons and private practice — it doesn't replace them. It is not a driving instructor, a driving school, an examiner, or a substitute for a qualified supervising driver, and AI feedback can be wrong or incomplete.

Always follow your instructor, your supervising driver, the Highway Code and the law, and make sure you're driving legally and safely — properly supervised, insured, and with L plates displayed.
